We Fought a Guilty Verdict and Won Our Client a Second Chance

Our Team Made the (Seemingly) Impossible, Possible

On January 5, 2017, the State of Tennessee accused Joshua Chambers of committing first degree premeditated murder (count one) and employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony (count two). While represented by a different lawyer, the jury convicted Josh of second-degree murder. Josh was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Josh hired Dana McLendon, and Dana McLendon got his guilty verdict reversed in the Court of Criminal Appeals. Josh is currently free and awaiting a new trial.

Due to the jury being improperly instructed, and denied the necessary information to make a fair and informed decision, Josh was wrongly convicted. Our team fought back. We exposed the state’s errors and got our client’s guilty verdict reversed.

Our team ensured justice was served to Mr. Chambers’ case. We were keen on holding the court and prosecution accountable for doing their part to uphold the law, especially when it came to instructing the jury on self-defense. Our client was engaged in self-defense, which isn’t illegal.

Our hard work and persistence led to the reversal of our client’s verdict. He is innocent unless and until a fair trial results in a guilty verdict.
